White people is a term which is usually used to refer to human beings characterized, at least in part, by the light pigmentation of their skin. It usually refers narrowly to people claiming ancestry exclusively from Europe and immediately adjacent territories (the Caucasus, Anatolia and the Mediterranean islands). A broader racial science concept uses "white" as a synonym for Caucasian. People from the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Central Asia, and, South Asia may also be considered "white".
