Hiratsuka (平塚市, Hiratsuka-shi?) is a city located in Kanagawa, Japan. Hiratsuka is located on the Kanto plain midway between Tokyo and Mt. Fuji, and has a 5 Kilometer coastline in the Shonan area on the Pacific Ocean in Sagami bay. As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 260,419 and the density of 3,840 persons per km².
